PokéIsaac beginner guide: start your first dungeon run

Start PokéIsaac with a clear first-run plan. Find Classic, Indigo League and co-op, inspect your team, and understand language, progress and browser controls.

Start with a recognisable first-run route

Open PokéIsaac, inspect the selected Pokémon, then choose Play and Classic to learn the basic dungeon flow. The reviewed v1.1.1 home screen reached its mode selector without requiring us to sign in. Online and account-based features are separate choices.

A support announcement may appear before the menu. Read or close it using the original game’s controls; supporting the project is distinct from starting a free run. The RadiantGames play link keeps this guide close for your return.

Classic, Indigo League and co-op

ModeWhat the checked selector showedUseful first decision
ClassicSeven chapters, three-floor chapters and bosses, followed by endless modeLearn the base loop before comparing specialised routes
Indigo LeagueA separate badge-themed routeRead its current rules instead of assuming Classic progression
Co-opUp to four playersCheck the room and connection flow before inviting friends

We verified the selector, not every chapter or a public multiplayer session. Availability and balance can change as the beta develops.

Inspect the team before choosing a complicated plan

The home screen presents a selected Pokémon, two add slots and a My Team control. Start by reading the options currently available to you. Keep one recognisable plan for the first attempts instead of changing every team decision after an unfamiliar room.

When comparing a new choice, ask which problem it solves: reaching enemies safely, surviving a crowded room or making better use of an item interaction. A famous Pokémon name is not by itself evidence that it fits your current run.

Learn one room at a time

Look for a safe movement route before chasing every pickup. Give yourself room to react, then observe what a new item actually changes. Read the game’s description and compare the result before combining several unfamiliar effects.

After a failed attempt, identify one decision to test next time. Repeating a room with a specific adjustment teaches more than replacing the whole plan without knowing what caused the failure. A beginner guide cannot promise a win or a universally best item order.

Language, input and the complete game window

The reviewed interface was in English. The settings gear and original menus are the place to check available language and control options; translating this article does not change the game client. The mode selector explicitly offered arrow-key selection and Enter or a click to continue.

For play controls, follow the current game’s own instructions. A canvas menu can be visible even when the browser focus is outside it. Click or tap inside before using keys, and check the whole view after changing orientation or fullscreen.

A favourite is not a dungeon save

The profile card includes a Sign In entry alongside progression indicators. Check the original game’s account and storage instructions before assuming that a guest session synchronises to another device. A locally saved guide link does not preserve a team, an unlock or a multiplayer room.

Keep the current browser context until you understand the game’s own save behaviour. If something stops loading, compare the original site before clearing data. The related game pictures provide another session while keeping this guide available.
