What Marks are, and where to check them
Open Collection in the original game and look at the Marks balance for the selected class. In the menu we checked, the balance was labelled “Marks: 0 (Hunter)”. Changing class is therefore an important first check when a balance or collection looks different. Marks, the class’s talent XP and achievement points appear in different systems; this guide does not treat them as one currency.
This is a reading of the original v0.131.0 menus on 31 October 2026, not a measured best-farming run. We did not spend a player’s currency or import a save. Prices and rewards may change in later versions, so confirm the active class and the original confirmation screen before spending.

The Heroic multiplier table
The Elwynn Forest difficulty menu displayed the following Marks multipliers. They describe the mode’s reward scaling, not guaranteed Marks per minute. A harder run that ends early can still be a worse use of your time than a repeatable clear.
| Difficulty | Marks multiplier |
|---|---|
| Normal | ×0.5 |
| Heroic I | ×1 |
| Heroic II | ×1.25 |
| Heroic III | ×1.5 |
| Heroic IV | ×2 |
| Heroic V | ×2.5 |
Heroic V’s displayed multiplier is five times Normal’s. That arithmetic is not evidence that it farms five times faster: completion time, deaths and your current build all matter.
Unlocking a difficulty is different from upgrading a piece
The difficulty screen says a Normal win with a class opens Heroic for that class. Beating Heroic N opens the next difficulty for every class, while allowing this class’s gear from that area to reach N stars. A global difficulty unlock is not the same as every class owning upgraded equipment.
Read the actual piece tooltip in Collection. On the unowned Common Tracker’s Helm we inspected, the first-star gate referred to Hunter Heroic I in Elwynn or Duskwood, and the three-star gate to Heroic III. That is a concrete example, not a promise that every rarity, area and slot uses identical gates.
Check the item and set threshold before you spend
The inspected Tracker’s tooltip separated a set bonus for four armour pieces at one star or above from an upgraded bonus for eight armour pieces at three stars or above. One upgraded piece does not automatically activate the full set. Count the qualifying armour pieces, rather than every item equipped on the character.
The inspected piece was unowned, so the menu did not let us verify an upgrade price. We will not invent a universal price table, refund policy or discount. Choose the owned piece in your current version and read its cost and unlock requirement before confirming.
A useful farming comparison needs successful runs
Choose a difficulty that you can finish consistently. Record the class, area, difficulty, run duration and the change in Marks for several completed runs. Keep the version and any reward modifiers with that note. Compare like with like; one exceptional drop or an unfinished attempt is not a reliable farming rate.
If a higher mode causes repeated early exits, improve the build or return to a mode you can clear. The Mage routes and Hunter routes below explain the current tree milestones. Neither page claims a laboratory-tested damage ranking.
Protect the progress you already earned
Export a backup through the original game’s Saves interface before changing environments or testing a restore. A RadiantGames favourite stores this guide’s address, not Marks or equipment. A file advertised as a Marks generator can replace progress or contain something unrelated to the original game.
Use the save backup guide for the difference between export and restore. If an update changes a tooltip, follow the live original menu rather than spending based on an older screenshot.
